Speed Reading by Daniel Alley

Speed Reading: Training Techniques to Read Faster Than Ever - Learn More in Less Time (Speed Reading Guide, Reading Comprehension, Memory, Reading Speed)

It's a very good book. I am a natural speed reader, always have been, I noticed that people with average to slow reading speeds often mouth the words they read, the sub-vocalization referred to in this book, I realized a long time ago that was what kept so many others from reading faster. I even tried to explain that to people, they understood what I was saying but I didn't know how to tell them just how I read so much faster, your book explains it beautifully.

Even though I'm a natural fast reader, I learned from this book. #SpeedReading

EPAuto 12V 120W Portable Air Compressor Pump, Digital Tire Inflator by 100 PSI

EDITED YET AGAIN
The company saw my review and reached out to me through Amazon, they first offered to send a replacement unit, said I could keep the current one. Then they contacted me again and said they would give me a full refund instead, considering I received it free, I can understand their point of view on that, the unit does work as an air pump and the screen is semi-readable. So far I haven't seen anyone else complaining about the screen, so hopefully it's just the one I received.

EDITED
Just a few days later, I was airing up 2 of my tires and the LCD screen partially stopped working, I could see parts of each number, if I pressed on the screen, then I could see everything. It still seems to be functioning correctly, but I did deduct a star for it.

I am very happy to have this little piece of mind in my truck, I live out in the wilds of far west Texas where there are miles and miles of beautiful land but not much else between towns, I travel for my job between 3 far apart towns, the closest one is 20 miles away. I have had to change my own tires, there are times when I could have made it to the next town if I had been able to air up my tire, once I could have even fixed my own tire (plug it) but I had no way of airing up my tire. Now I have one more layer of safety, being a lone female, truck tires are challenging to deal with, it's nice to have this piece of mind. #TireAirPump120W #WrethaReviews

Five Joy Hiking Gaiters review

These are the first gaiters like this I have ever had, I live on a mountain side, in the high desert of far west Texas, we have LOTS of brush, prickers and other scratchy pokey get into your shoes and tear your pants kinds of things, we have lots of fun hiking opportunities out here. When I first received these, there aren't any instructions so I referred to the picture on Amazon to determine the correct way to put them on, the logo goes on the outside of your legs, the velcro closure goes on the front, the hook at the front bottom hooks on your laces. One thing I would change if it were a perfect world is to put the buckle on the inside (as opposed to the outside) of your ankle, facing together, that would make it easier to get to, especially two handed, it's not a big problem, I'm just going to wear them on the opposite side (left for right) so the buckles will be on the inside for me.

EDITED
It was brought to my attention by a cowboy, the buckles are supposed to be on the outside, like spurs that have the buckles on the outside, it keeps you from locking the buckles together as you walk and doing a faceplant. So I would wish for velcro instead of buckles.

They did protect my pants and kept things out of my hiking shoes, I stayed dry, a few plants got caught in the buckles but it wasn't a problem. They look sharp, everyone commented on them (good things).

SIZING
I would say, don't go by your shoe size, I purchased a large, if I were going strictly by my shoe size I should have ordered a medium and I'm quite certain that would have been too small for me around the upper calf area. Measure the circumference of your calf and the height, those measurements are included in the sizing. The velcro and buckles make it adjustable, so err toward the larger size because you can snug them up. I will say again, your shoe size is much less important, you can have a small shoe size and a larger leg or have a large shoe size and a smaller leg, personally I don't think they should include the shoe size in the mix, just the measurements around the top and the length.
_________________________________________
PROTECTION
These will protect you from prickers, stickers, rocks, dirt, moisture, snow... but these are NOT SNAKE GAITERS, they are thin nylon material, and are in no way meant to protect you from snake bites, the company does not claim they are snake gaiters, don't make the mistake of thinking they might protect you from that. Snake gaiters are much thicker, tougher and cost a LOT more. I live in rattlesnake country, we encounter 3 different types out here on a regular basis, rock rattlers, black tail and mojave. I was hoping these might afford some protection, but that's not what these are made for.

Rosie and Bailey Tree Straps for hammocks review

These straps are LONG! You get 2 of them and they are STRONG! I hooked them to a couple of trees and found I had more than enough length, really almost more than I needed, I had to adjust them down quite a bit and these trees were pretty far apart. They felt very secure, I'm no lightweight, they held fast. They were easy to use and adjust. I appreciate the carrying bag they come in.

They do not come with carabiners of any sort, my hammocks already had them so it was not a problem, but it is something to be aware of. #rosieandbailey #WrethaReviews

Needs better QC before shipping out...

It's a makeup brush holder.

This came packaged well enough, protected in a small padded envelope, it came with no instructions, just an assortment of parts, mine was complete and came with a tiny screwdriver to put everything together.

Be sure you remove the protective plastic wrap on BOTH sides of EACH clear plastic part. It also came with 4 little rubber feet that attach to the bottom of the unit. Putting it together, everything went OK in the beginning, be sure you place the screws on the side with the indent for the screw head.

It didn't say to (no instructions) but I aligned the little heart and the big heart cutouts so they would match up, don't know if that really matters or not.

Everything went smoothly until I tried to screw in the final 2 screws, being tiny screws I was extraordinarily careful to get the screws properly lined up, the last two still managed to feel crossthreaded, they would only screw down part way, so the whole thing is floppy, not secure, the rubber feet help secure it a bit, but there is no way it's going to screw in completely. I even removed the screws and tried in different holes, the problem is not the screws themselves but where the posts were threaded on the inside.

I find this to be a failure in quality control. This looks pretty and would otherwise be a nice makeup brush holder. #MakeupBrushHolder #WrethaReviews

Rosie and Bailey hammock review

This is just a quick-n-dirty review of the Rosie and Bailey hammock, a friend of mine came over and tested out the hammock, it works great, it holds lots of weight (up to 600 pounds!), it's comfortable and looks good. This does NOT come with hanging straps, those are a separate purchase. #ROSIEANDBAILEY #WrethaReviews

APIE Bluetooth earbuds review

These are nice bluetooth earbuds, small, light, with a magnetic clasp so when you aren't wearing it, but have it around your neck, it is much less likely to fall off, a very nice detail.

These pair quickly and sound awesome! They fit me well with the medium size earbuds, there are 2 other sizes, a large and small. I like the more compact size, I don't mind the controls being on the wire, in fact it makes it easier for me to know which side goes in which ear. I can easily give these 5 stars on Amazon. #APIE #WrethaReviews

Suzaru black ceramic chef knife review

I'm not one to wear bling, but give me some bling for my kitchen, especially something that works as well as this, and I'm a happy cook! This chef's knife is wonderful, I have used it like crazy ever since receiving it, mainly to cut up vegetables - carrots, celery, onions - the holy trinity of soup. It slices like a dream, being ceramic it doesn't flex or bend, and it's SHARP, it can cut an onion thin enough that it almost isn't there anymore.

I appreciate the classy box it comes in, it can be stored in that when you aren't using it, I also appreciate the blade sheath to protect the blade for when I start putting it in my knife drawer.

I received this at a discount in exchange for my review, that does not guarantee a positive review, only that they will get one, and it was my pleasure to give a positive review on this one. #SUZARU_CERAMIC_KNIFE #WrethaReviews

HealthyWiser PH Meter review

This was a fun review to do! I am familiar with measuring PH and what it means, but in the past I've done it using PH strips and sticks, plastic and paper. The problem with strips is they have an expiration date, I assume they lose their accuracy if you keep them beyond their date, and you have to be concerned about how you store them, keeping them dry and a consistent temperature. Not to mention the expense, even if they are cheap to buy, if you throw them away unused, it's not a bargain.

Now that I have the PH meter, I don't have to worry about that again, I have a reliable measuring device that isn't going to go "out of date" or go bad because of how it's stored.

I collected several different sources of water, well water, well water stored in a plastic tank, stored and filtered well water, creek water and water that seeped up under the house (from the rains).

It was interesting to see the different measurements coming from each source of water. I am happy to see the water we drink and cook with is slightly alkaline. #HealthywiserpHmeter #WrethaReviews

HealthyWiser PPM Meter review

This is quite the fun review, it's the HealthyWiser Digital TDS & EC Water Test meter, I collected water from many sources, well water, well water stored in a tank, well water stored in a tank and run through a filter, creek water and water seepage from under the house (from rain water).

I was surprised at which one was the cleanest of all of them. I noticed that the meter was very sensitive and even moving it around in the water caused the reading to fluctuate a bit. It comes in a very nice leather case. #HealthyWiserTDS #WrethaReviews

TripWorthy Hammock Review

This is my first hammock of this type, I really like it, it was simple to get in and out of, (I recommend practicing before you do it in front of anyone else LOL), It's wide enough that you can completely cover yourself like a cocoon, though it is not bug tight, it will keep a lot of them away, and it would keep the sun off of your face.

It's really simple and easy to setup and take down, the straps and carabiners are strong, just make sure the knots are tight and you will be good to go. I love the bright color, the stitching is tight and I love the fact that the carrying bag is sewn onto the hammock, no way you can lose it, and you can even put some items in the bag when you are using the hammock for easy retrieval once you are in. It felt quite secure under me. #TripWorthy #WrethaReviews

SSIG Bluetooth earbuds review

These are a great set of bluetooth earbuds, they sound great, they fit great and are comfortable, that being very important to me, if something isn't comfortable, I don't care how good they sound, I'll not wear them, these are very comfortable. I used them to watch/listen to several TV shows on my laptop, the sound was rich and full, and they lasted about the amount of time they say they will, about 4 and a half hours being used the majority of that time. They came already charged, when I hooked them up to the charger right out of the box, they almost immediately began to flash blue, which is the sign that they have a full charge. I give these a huge thumbs up. #SSIGearbuds #WrethaReviews
